  3. Waits after an event

The wait for a bus home after an event is an estimate, and it is the least a rider could have waited.

We cannot see riders. We see when buses left the venue stops after the event ended, and we work out the wait from that.

What we observed

  • The time each bus left the venue stops after the event ended, from live vehicle positions close to a stop.
  • Planned and ran trips come from the night’s results. Extra buses are buses that left on an event route. The venue’s stops are its listed stops, or the stops near its address.

The model, and what it assumes

  • Riders reach the stops evenly over the hour after the event ends. This shows what the service offered, not how crowded it was.
  • Every rider boards the first bus that leaves after they arrive. A full bus is not modelled, so the real wait can only be longer.
  • The typical wait is the median. The longest is the worst wait of a rider who boarded in the hours after the event. The bars count riders in short steps.

Lo que deja fuera

  • Attendance is not used. It is shown only when a published source gives it, and the source is named. Otherwise the page says "not available".
  • With too few departures seen, the page says "not measured". A range for a kind of event needs enough nights.

Versión del método y registro de cambios

Un mes publicado nunca cambia. Si se revisa un método, los meses pasados conservan el método con el que se calcularon.
