We give the cause engine facts. We never give it causes.

The cause engine and the written analysis read measured facts from us. This page lists what they get, and what no source holds.

What it reads

  • Counts by day type and hour: scheduled trips, trips cancelled, trips that did not come, and stops judged on time, early, late, skipped or missing.
  • The same counts by day.
  • Each missing trip with its first-departure hour and its timetable block, and whether it is the first trip of that block that day.
  • The median delay at each timepoint in order, by direction, day type and hour.
  • Places where buses slow: the median added delay between two timepoints in a row, over days, and how many days show it. A place is listed when the median shows a clear added delay.
  • Planned and actual speed between anchor stops, slowest first. Both use the same distance, so they compare with each other and are a lower bound on road speed.
  • The spacing of buses by day type and hour.

What is not available

Which garage a block belongs to, and whether a trip follows a driver change: no source holds them. How late a bus leaves its last stop: departures are not captured.
