- Did not come
A trip that never came counts as a miss.
Every scheduled bus trip ends in one of four ways. We say which, and we never hide the ones we could not see.
The four outcomes
| Outcome | What we saw |
|---|---|
| Gii-maajaa | We saw a bus on the trip. |
| Cancelled | The operator said the trip would not run, and we saw no bus. |
| Did not come | We saw no bus and the operator said nothing, and the feed was healthy for the whole trip. |
| We did not see this bus. It may have come. | The feed was too thin to tell, or the live feed and the timetable used different trip numbers that day. |
How the share is worked out
The share is Ran over every scheduled trip we could judge. Trips we did not see are shown, and left out of the share. Added trips (the operator’s NEW trips) are not scheduled trips, so they never hide a missed one. A trip with a notice that we saw run is counted as Ran, and the case is recorded.
Kìdjitchigewin
A bus can run with its tracker off. "Did not come" is a strong signal that needs checking. It is not proof. Rail is not here: OC Transpo does not publish train positions.
Where the numbers come from
- OC Transpo live vehicle positions
- STO live vehicle positions
- Operator service notices
- Published timetables, dated
