Scheduled-trip position coverage
- Version
- scheduled-trip-position-observation-v1
- ID
- network-reliability:trip-position-coverage
Definition
- Definition
- The share of scheduled bus trips with at least one archived realtime position carrying the same route, trip, and service date.
- Formula
- 100 × observed scheduled trips ÷ all scheduled trips over the last seven completed service dates, rounded to one decimal place.
- Units
- percent of scheduled bus trips
- Population
- Scheduled bus trips in the current imported timetable for the included completed service dates.
- Measurement window
- Last seven completed service dates.
- Coverage
- A trip enters the numerator when at least one archived public vehicle position matches its operator, route, trip and service date.
- Publication eligibility
- Bus trips with resolvable schedule and position identifiers. Rail is excluded.
- Scope
- Current imported bus schedule and archived vehicle positions for the last seven completed service dates.
- What this number can support
- Visibility in Otranspo’s position archive. A matched trip proves at least one observation; an unmatched trip does not prove cancellation or failure to operate.
Implementation status

- Public production
- This metric version has not been independently verified in the public production deployment.

Exclusions
- Rail routes are excluded. A trip without a matched position is an investigation signal, not proof that the trip did not operate.
Uncertainty and interpretation
- Trip identifiers and service-date matching can fail when a feed is absent, stale, or inconsistent with the imported schedule.
- The result describes matched published predictions, not every operated trip. Feed gaps and trip-matching limits can reduce coverage.
- Current network evidence is recomputed and is not stored here as an immutable historical snapshot.
